A scale load cell is an analogue transducer which converts physical mass into an electrical signal when mass is applied to it. The digital scale indicator then converts this signal into a readable weight display.
There is a large variety of maximum capacities and physical configuration of loadcells as well as the material they are manufactured from. Aluminium, stainless steel and machine tool steel are popular.
